Labor Day Weekend Activities around Charleston, SC

The kids are back in school and summer is starting to wind down. Football is on tv and pumpkin spice lattes are on the menu at Starbucks. Before fall officially arrives, it is time for the annual summer send-off, also known as, Labor Day Weekend. In Charleston we don't fret at this pivitol date because we know Labor Day marks the the end of peak Summer season and leaves open beaches, sunshine and not to mention the best surfing season of the year for those of us here or visiting to enjoy for the next few months! Here are some of our favorite Labor Day Weekend activities happening around Charleston, SC.

Lowcountry Jazz Festival

The Lowcountry Jazz Festival kicks off Friday, September 1st and his held both Saturday and Sunday at the Gaillard Center Downtown. The Festival is celebrating it's 10th anniversary. Musicians include Boney James, Nick Colionne, Brian Simpson, Eric Darius, Matt Marshak, and Eric Roberson, among many others. There is a special All White VIP Party Friday night, August 31 from 7:30-11pm. Tickets can be purchased at LowcountryJazzFest.com.

Labor Day Weekend Dock Party

Make it truly a Sunday Funday at Vickery's on Shem Creek. Vickery's is hosting a Labor Day Weekend Dock Party featuring a corn hole tournament starting at 4pm. There is a maximum of eight teams with a $50 gift certificate up for grabs. There will also be a full band from 5pm to 8pm, as well as $5 Titos, $2.50 Bud, Bud Light, and Ultra Cans, as well as, $1.50 Bud Light Lime Cans.

Pool Party Pub Crawl

Don't put your bathing suit away quite yet. Bring out your bathing suit and crawl around your favorite bars downtown on Sunday, September 2nd. Blue Steel Promotions is hosting the event and tickets are available for purchase. Tickets get you discounted drinks and entry to bars including The Brick, Charleston Beer Works, and Silver Dollar among others. There will also be a $500 Tournament at check in at the Brick. Check-in starts at 2pm. There will be an after party from 8pm-11pm where the first 250 people with completed scorecards will receive a free t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Get your tickets here.

5th Annual End of Summer All White Affair

Pig Pickin' and Lowcountry Boil

Head out to Saltwater Cowboys on Shem Creek from 2pm to 6pm on Labor Day for an old school pig pickin' and Lowcountry Boil. The event is $25 per person with proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
