Best Memorial Day Activities in Charleston

While rain may be in the forecast here in Charleston for this Memorial Day weekend, it doesn't have to be a total washout. There are tons of family-friendly and adult-friendly Memorial Day weekend activities planned rain or shine. Kids and adults alike will learn about the various species of turtles that call South Carolina home. There will be interactive and hands on activities for the kids to enjoy.

Spoleto Festival USA

The annual Spoleto Festival kicks off this weekend with events taking place at various locations around Charleston. If you can't make this weekend's events, don't worry. The festival lasts until June 10th. 

World Turtle Celebrations

The South Carolina Aquarium announced that it will be hosting World Turtle Celebrations throughout the Memorial Day weekend. This is a great rainy day activity for the kids. The celebration is geared towards educating kids and adults alike on the turtle species that call South Carolina home. The celebration includes various hands on and interactive activities for kids to enjoy.

14th Annual SOS Memorial Day Pre-Party and Show at the Windjammer

Stop into the Windjammer on the Isle of Palms Saturday for the 14th Annual SOS Memorial Day Pre-Party and Show. The VIP Pre-Party kicks off at 7pm on the back deck of the Windjammer and goes until 9pm. The show featuring the John Driskell Hopkins Band kicks off at 9pm. VIP Pre-Party tickets are $75 and include food and adult beverages. All proceeds from the event go to benefit breast cancer patients here in the Lowcountry.

9th Annual Southeastern Beard and Mustache Championships

Bring your beard, or ladies just yourselves, to the 9th Annual Southeastern Beard and Mustache Championships held at the Music Farm Saturday from 7 to 10 pm. If you have a beard or mustache you have the opportunity to showcase it and be judged in a variety of categories. If you do not, you have the opportunity to vote for some of your favorite beards and mustaches. All proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Lowcountry.

Puppies and Pints Brunch at Bay Street Biergarten

Bring the kids and your furry friends to the Puppies and Pints Brunch at Bay Street Biergarten on Sunday. There is no better Sunday Funday than on a holiday weekend!

Piccolo Spoleto Memorial Day Concert

Bring the kids down to Marion Square for this annual Memorial Day tradition. The Piccolo Spoleto Memorial Day Concert features Charleston and Columbia community bands. The concert kicks off on Monday at 3pm.
