Are surf lessons worth it?

We cannot tell you how many lessons we teach who have a horror story about surfing with a friend or significant other. It is very common for friends and spouses to forget about their “lesson” once in the water. Often people are left to fend for themselves amongst the waves, the crowd, and the hazards with little to no knowledge on etiquette, board control, or even the basics about wave riding, paddling, or popping up.
