Ever since Hurricane Matthew, the Charleston area has had waves. We had the longest stretch of consistent waves and clean conditions I have experienced in Charleston. Everyday was at least waist high and the majority of days had light offshore or light side/offshore winds. We surfed a ton and unfortunately it has come to an end. As the rest of the east coast is getting fun waves, good ole Folly Beach is missing the majority of the N swell resulting in ankle high waves.
It was a good run while it lasted. A few of the days (I can't remember specific dates at this point) were as good as it gets. Head high, light offshore, incoming tide, 2mm, and the sun was out. What more could you ask for? We're already getting antsy for the next real swell. The colder weather and N winds have settled in so hopefully we can get some NE swell soon!
